Getting back at it..

Hello World! 

I just wanted to make a quick post to say that I once again have been slacking, but have not forgotten about blogging. We finally got a new computer and I am still learning how to use it. The summer has been crazy busy and we still have a few more things to do before we settle down, but we have loved every minute of it. For now I will leave you with a couple pictures of our little angel..who is now 9 months old!!!! WOW. I have tons of updating to do on this blog and I promise I will get to it. Soon. ha! Fun Days with Friends

What started out to be a nasty, rainy day...ended up being an oh-so-fun day with friends!! We planned on a lunch date with Kayla, Lauren, Asher and Aven on Friday...and after getting ready and heading outside, realized it was raining. Its TOUGH to go ANYWHERE with a baby and all the "stuff" especially in the rain. But, Kayla and Asher picked us up and we headed out. Both babies fell asleep in the car...a good thing right? Normally! But, when we arrived at the restaurant, getting the babies out and running through the rain, WOKE THEM BOTH UP! Imagine that!! So, we ate, quickly, in hopes that they would go back to sleep, but no such luck. So, Kayla suggested going to the mall to walk around and hopefully it would put them back to sleep. GREAT IDEA!!! We got out of the rain, shopped while the little babies slept and hung out with our wonderful friends for a while.After a pit stop at Starbucks and lunch for the little babies, we headed off to meet "Mr. Bunny" WHAT A FUN TIME!!! Of course, the little babies didn't care one way or another and were not phased by him, but Aven LOVED him!!! It was the cutest thing ever, she smiled, giggled, waved to him and thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Easter Bunny. We got pictures of everyone alone with him and then a group photo, which I think is A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E! Oh, and by the way, AVEN, you get the BEST BABY AWARD for the day!!!!! She was SOOOO good, even after missing her nap. We enjoyed hanging out with you girl, thanks for being the best baby! :) Kate had her serious face on while sitting with Mr. Bunny

We LOVE our friends and fun days that we get to spend with them!! Hope everyone has a great weekend! ( I have NO idea, why this dumb computer is messing up the layout of my post...sorry! Still haven't gotten a new computer and hope to do so, SOON. I have tried to edit this post 3 times to fix it. oh well!!)

Life Lately...

Well, I know that it has been a while since my last Blog post...let me explain why. :) My computer died...yep! It has been messed up for a long time and I was just trying to be gentle with it, and it finally gave up. It broke in half, literally...in half!! So, we have been down to only CPs computer...and we are not friends! (The computer and I, not CP and I, ha!) I don't know, this thing is just so frustrating for me. I'm such a creature of habit, and was used to mine, so...thats why I haven't been blogging! Excuses, huh!! :)

Here is a picture of 4 generations of Smith girls...Mema, Mom, Kate and myself. I LOVE these ladies so much and am so thankful that they are able to love and spoil Kate, like they did me. She loves them too! :)

So, here is what has been going on in our life lately...CP had to work in Jackson for a week and Kate and I spent the week in Chatt-town. It was nice to spend time with family that we don't get to see often, but we missed Daddy. Kate was majorly spoiled by her Grandparents and Uncle John!!

And, here is a picture of "Uncle Max" We really enjoyed spending everyday with Uncle Max and Uncle John...somehow I didn't get a single picture of John on that trip, I hate that! But Kate loves him and can't wait to get a little bigger and really will enjoy playing with Uncle John! He already wanted to know if Kate wanted to ride his Motorcycle....NO UNCLE JOHN, SHE DOESN'T!! We love you tho!! haha!!! (You better be careful on that thing)

We are doing food now too. Kate wasn't sure what to think of it at first, and that spoon, what is this hard thing?!? But she is getting the hang of it now. So far, we have had...Apples, Bananas, Peaches, Sweet Potato's, and Pears. I think Pears might be her fav....

Well, that is pretty much what our life has been like lately...it is AWESOME!! We are loving this sweet girl, she is so much fun. Oh yea...she rolled over the other night...Charles and I were both there to see it and Kate was so proud of herself! Hope you are all having a good week and maybe I will get a new computer soon, so that I won't have any excuses for blogging! :)

4 months old...almost 5

Well, here is sweet Kate at 4 months old. I am late (of course) and on the 11th of this month (March) she will be 5 months old! Here she is, during her 4 month, monthly photos at home.

She is developing such the personality now!! We are loving this age!!!!

Kate's crazy Mom, made her a tutu for Valentines day, and this is what she thought of it...haha!

She is trying to roll over. She hasn't quite done it on her own yet, but is very, very close!

What else has been going on around here....well, Kate had her 4 month shots. Dad had a patient and couldn't go, so Mom was on her own for this one. It went fine tho, I was nervous about going without Charles, but Kate did good. Don't get me wrong, she HATED it and screamed her head off for a little bit, but soon got over it. She ran a fever again, like she did at 2 month shots, but this time it wasn't as bad. She slept alot that day and the next, but was soon back to herself! (those shots sure do take alot out of them!)

Since the Dr. appt. we have started Kate on cereal...I will post pictures of that soon. At first, she wasn't sure about the whole spoon thing, but she is getting the hang of it. The first few days we just did plain cereal, rice or oatmeal, but lately we have added some apples in and she seems to like it better. We will start another fruit this week. :)

Length: 24.25= 65th percentile

Weight: 12.10 lbs=33rd percentile

Head circ: 40 1/2= 57th percentile

She is doing great and we will go back at 6 months for more shots! I will update you all on how the eating thing is going soon...for now, Kate is waking up from a nap, so I better run. :)

Sweet Girl

I just wanted to share this picture with everyone...we went for a walk with Kayla and Asher and Kate had to wear her SHADES!! :) We love our adorable little girl SOOO MUCH!!!! Hope everyone is having a good week.

Finger Sucker??

So, Kate has ALWAYS loved her Paci...but as of today, I am wondering if she is going to be a finger sucker. These are 3 pictures that I have taken of her today. She starts out with her paci, but this is how she seems to end up! It looks cute, but I would rather her be a Paci sucker... I think. You can take away a paci...can't so much take away a finger! :)

Other than that...life is good! She is 17 weeks old today. She is growing up sooo fast! She can hold her head up and loves to sit up like a big girl... with help of course! The past few days have been pretty, so we have been walking quite a bit. She loves her carseat, so she usually sleeps most of the time. She has figured out how to take her paci out, but hasn't figured out how to put it back yet...guess thats why shes been sucking her fingers, huh. We go to the Dr. next week for her 4 month shots. We dread that, it is no fun to watch her hurt like that, but, it only lasts for a little bit, thank goodness. Life is good and we are so thankful that God has blessed us with a very happy, healthy, sweet little girl! Love you Kate!!!

Such a Big Girl!!

Kate is growing soo fast! She is now 15 weeks old. We decided to get the Bumbo seat out the other day, just to see if she could sit in it. We knew that her head wasnt quite strong enough yet, but we thought we would give it a quick try....SHE LOVES IT! Now that she has tried it, every time we lay her down, she is raising her neck up!!! She gets worn out quickly, but she is doing great. She has the best little personality. She is smiling all the time and "talking" so much more...it is awesome!! But, ANY time I get the camera out, she STOPS smiling! I am not sure what her deal is, but hopefully she will stop soon. She has the cutest smiles and I want to be able to share them with everyone. :) I don't sound like a proud Mom, do I ?? Here are a few pictures of Kate in her "seat"...

I had to have some Dental Work done this week (yes, by Dr. Puryear himself!!) and Cesa came up, last minute to keep Kate for us. We SOOO appreciated her coming and Kate loved spending time with her. They played, cuddled, played, cuddled, etc etc. Needless to say...today all Kate wanted me to do was HOLD HER! Thanks Cesa. Kidding, kidding! I'm so thankful that she has such wonderful grandparents and I hope that she will get to make as many wonderful memories with them as I have with mine. I am so sad that my Dad isn't here for Kate to get to know, but I tell her about him all the time and I know that he would be so proud of her!!

Hope everyone is having a good week. We are looking forward to the weekend...it is supposed to be cold and rainy, but thats ok. We are ready for CP to be home with us!
